The Space
There is a queen bedroom and a twin bedroom downstairs and a closed-in sun porch with a door, double bed, and blinds all around for privacy. Upstairs there is a queen bedroom with a seating area and wood stove, and a kids bedroom with two bunk beds. Two full bathrooms, one brand new with lovely soaking tub for after beach relaxation or washing up sandy kids.
The Area
Welcome to wine country! Quick access to Wolfville and Acadia University is only 20 minutes away. Visit the plethora of wineries, cideries, breweries, and distilleries nearby. Enjoy the excellent farmer's market on Saturday mornings and find locally made crafts, organic vegetables, meats, baked goods, and prepared foods. Walk around the quaint village of Wolfville for unique shops, cosy patios, and high quality restaurants. Check out the look off for an amazing view of the valley (and for an ice cream!) or head to Hall's Harbour for the freshest lobster you've ever tasted. Tons of adventures to be had right near by.
The Beach
Kingsport Beach is just a 5 minute walk down the street. Walk as long as you want on the bottom of the ocean at low tide to see amazing formations in the red sand. Find crabs and hermit crabs. And see if the cows are grazing oceanside. So much to explore and so many secret spots to discover. At high tide, explore via canoe and cliff jump into the ocean. Make sure to check your location first at low tide to ensure your safety. Then grab an ice cream at the wharf and enjoy the views.

Great central location to jump off to South Shore locations such as Lunenburg, Chester, and Peggy's Cove. There are also many other Bay of Fundy locations such as Annapolis Royal for the historical forts and quaint village, and Digby for scallops and whale watching (all about 1-1.5 hours away). Spend the day in Halifax experiencing the great restaurants, museums, and other cultural attractions in about an hour's drive. So much to do and see from this quiet and peaceful location.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rose Cottage! There were 6 of us, including 2 teenagers, and the cottage had lots of space for everyone. The sunroom daybed was a favourite reading nook and the table was big enough for family dinners. The cottage was clean and the beds were comfortable. When I had questions, my messages were responded to quickly. We would definitely come back!
My stay at Rose Cottage with friends was very relaxing with ample space for long walks around the quiet neighbourhood. The Minas Basin was a highlight for me, which you could see from the large decked cottage, and only a walk away to go out to the mudflats after the tide and discover shelled treasures left behind. Easy access to swimming spots and only a 15 minute drive into Canning to load up on groceries. Rose Cottage is definitely spacious with two bathrooms and lots of bedroom space. The grounds are beautiful!
We loved our stay at Rose Cottage! The location is excellent being close to great wineries, restaurants, and my favorite place, The Tangled Garden. The beach is just a short walk and is well worth visiting especially during low tide. We enjoyed walking around and seeing the gorgeous cliffs with beautiful natural formations and the lush green dunes. The cottage itself is beautiful, spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you would need for cooking. The beds were very comfortable. There's a large deck that we very much enjoyed. The water view was a nice bonus. We will definitely be returning to Rose cottage very soon!
Beautiful property in a beautiful location! We truly enjoyed our stay in Canning. The house itself was exactly what my family wanted. It was clean and nicely decorated. The surrounding yard was charming and quaint. We especially loved picking blueberries in the morning and wildflowers at night. The cottage is located very close to the beach and a short drive to wineries and restaurants. There were so many things to do we have to make it back soon. When we do, we’ll definitely be staying at Rose Cottage!
Our family of four had a terrific week at Rose Cottage, it was a great landing spot for us as we explored the area. We especially enjoyed sitting and eating outside on the deck, and the short walk to the beach. The canteen at the beach was also a hit with our crew.
I enjoyed a lovely 3 weeks at the cottage sharing with 2 friends, 4 teens and my dog. The seaside experience was perfect for a restful, restorative getaway. Daily activities included taking in the fresh moist salt water air, walks to the beach and wharf area, strolls around the gardens on the property, and sitting out reading on the deck under the canopy. From this base, we also travelled out to explore popular seaside spots such as Halls Harbour, Chester and Lunenburg where the Bluenose was in port. The view from the Lookoff was spectacular. Lots of local restaurant choices to enjoy delicious seafood dishes such as Dickie-Baxters, the Port Pub and the Lobster Pound and an ice cream treat from the Tide’s In canteen at the wharf was a special treat. The cottage had a rustic charm with everything we needed. Hope to be back someday!
- a lovely peaceful property attracting many birds and other wildlife close to beautiful Kingsport countryside. - spacious cottage sleeps 10+ people/large family. Great room upstairs sleeps 6 people with own bathroom (2nd, of two). - large sunroom to enjoy especially on rainy days and a large outdoor wrap-around deck. - short walk to beach to enjoy high and low tides. - owners Chuck and Athena are very accommodating and fix any problems ASAP. - I enjoyed it there for 10 days with friends and would recommend it especially for families.
A great, dog friendly, location that allowed for many day trips to other parts of Nova Scotia. Has a good view of the water and the surrounding farmlands. Lovely grounds with blossoming trees and many singing birds; extremely peaceful and only a short walk to Kingsport Beach. Comfortable beds yet, unfortunately, the love seats are not. Generous living space with a deck, a wood stove, a small kitchen, and a quirky bathtub. Very glad that we lived there for the month of May 2023, while we were seeking a new home for ourselves in Nova Scotia. Highly recommend the Rose Cottage.
As someone who loves Kingsport I am so happy to have another Airbnb for everyone to see this amazing village. Athena and Chuck were so helpful and responsive. We will for sure be back!
What an ideal location for a long overdue family reunion! Rose Cottage was clean, spacious, quiet and private. We particularly enjoyed the cozy fireplace, lounging in the sun porch and the proximity to the beach. A well equipped kitchen & excellent wifi connection also capped our experience. Many thanks for your hospitality and for being a responsive & attentive host.
Thanks so much for your review, Tracey! We enjoyed hosting you in Kingsport!
